The art of nii-otto

Nii-otto sensei has a unique imprint which is influenced by many styles. After her debut lately, with the biggest Japanese publisher Shueisha (DBZ, JoJo , One Piece etc etc), as main illustrator for the novel book " Kenji to Youseikohaku", makes her debut outside Japan through a connection with Octagon Studio with her first Art book ever. The Art of nii-otto (she loves to be called and written in this way) is a kind of anthology with past and present works with an eye over the future under her original ukiyo-e style. Ukiyo-e (浮世絵) is a captivating genre of Japanese art that flourished during the Edo period (from the early 17th century to the late 19th century). The term “ukiyo-e” translates to “pictures of the floating world”. It depicts the socio-cultural context that emerged in cities like Edo (now Tokyo), Ōsaka, and Kyōto during the early 17th century.
